Adventures on the River

See The Tweed from a different perspective cruising the Tweed River. Hop aboard an eco-certified tour with Tweed Eco Cruises and get hands-on yabby pumping, fishing and more.

Try your hand at crab trapping and dine on fresh local seafood on a Catch-A-Crab tour.

Uncover The Tweed’s rich local history and lush landscapes with Tweed Escapes or captain your own adventure on the river with a Berger BBQ Boat.

Underwater Encounters

Share an unforgettable wildlife encounter as a family, heading out to Cook Island Nature Reserve to swim with turtles on an intimate group tour led by fun, professional and experienced staff. Tours depart from Chinderah with Cooly Eco Adventures or Fingal Head with Watersports Guru.

Trails and Tracks

Walk, run, ride or roll the 24km Tweed Section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail, a shared recreation and nature trail accessible for all ages and abilities. For thrillseekers, try the kids pump track at the Uki Mountain Bike Park. Back seaside, BYO or hire bikes to navigate along the scenic coastal pathway from Kingscliff.

Arts & Culture

Pop into Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre for a FREE drop-in Art Play activity by artist Helle Jorgenson inviting families to colour, cut and construct their still life paper creation.

Tweed Regional Museum brings to life the Bundjalung creation story of the Three Brothers in its current exhibition, The Wiiyaan, through art and animation with hands-on activities for families.

Be educated at the Marine Discovery Centre Hastings Point learning about the environments and ecosystems below the waves through interactive activities for kids.

Explore Outdoors

Swap screen time for sunscreen and explore the outdoors. Take a shaded walk to Fingal Head Lighthouse, make sandcastles on Kingscliff Beach or take to the calm waters at Jack Evans Boat Harbour with a stand up paddleboard hired from Big Trev at Watersports Tweed.

Surf’s Up

If you have a little surfing grom on your hands, why not book them into Surfing Australia High Performance Centre’s School Holiday Camp? Or for beginners, book a surf lesson with one of our local surf schools.
