About Locale Kids

From the creators of Locale Magazine comes Locale Kids – your fun and friendly guide for families living in or visiting the Northern Rivers and Gold Coast.

Locale Kids is all about celebrating family life in our beautiful region. From exciting events and activities to kid-friendly cafés, services, and local businesses, we’re here to help families discover the best of what’s around them. Whether you’re looking for weekend adventures, after-school activities, or local services that make family life easier, Locale Kids has you covered.

The idea grew from Locale Magazine, founded by Karen Kinnersly during the challenges of COVID lockdowns, with the goal of supporting local businesses and shining a light on the creativity of our community. Today, that vision has expanded to include Locale Kids – a space dedicated to families, where locals and visitors alike can find inspiration, connection, and trusted recommendations.

You’ll find our printed magazines in resorts, Airbnbs, hotels, cafés, restaurants, and boutiques, making it easy for families to pick up a copy. Plus, our growing online and social platforms keep you connected with even more local events, activities, and family-friendly businesses.

At Locale Kids, we believe family time should be fun, easy, and full of discovery – and we’re here to make sure you never miss out on the best our region has to offer.
